WELCOME FROM OUR
House Captains

Hello everyone!

We love being part of the Wavendon Gate School community because there is always something new and exciting to learn about. From developing new  skills and learning new knowledge in class to taking a leap and trying something new at our enrichment clubs like golf, art, playing a musical instrument and film making to name a few! We also get to visit exciting places too like LegoLand, Hampton Court Palace, Harry Potter Studios, and Whipsnade Zoo which helps bring our learning to life. Last year, we even had a mobile farm come to visit us on the school field with lots of animals to see up close!   Every day brings a new challenge, welcoming face and friendships to enjoy.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website.

WAVENDON GATE School Values

WAVENDON GATE
School Values

  • Kindness

Teaching the value of kindness at Wavendon Gate School is essential to fostering a nurturing environment where every child feels safe, cared for, and motivated to succeed. Integrated directly into our school's core ethos and behaviour framework, "The Wavendon Gate Way," kindness encourages pupils to practice empathy, share thoughtful gestures, and support one another both in the classroom and on the playground. By learning to celebrate differences and prioritise compassion alongside our other core values like respect and honesty, students build strong, positive relationships and gain a deep understanding of how their daily actions impact those around them. Ultimately, prioritising kindness equips children with the emotional foundation and social skills needed to grow into caring, inclusive, and active members of their broader community.
  • Growth

We believe that teaching the value of growth at Wavendon Gate School is vital to helping pupils develop a lifelong passion for learning and the resilience to navigate an ever-changing world. Embedded within our behaviour frameowork, "The Wavendon Gate Way," a growth-focused mindset encourages children to view effort as the key to mastery, see challenges as exciting opportunities, and recognise that their abilities can continually expand through perseverance. By celebrating progress alongside achievement—and anchoring growth to core values like self-belief, honesty, and respect—we empower students to step outside their comfort zones without fear of failure. Ultimately, instilling the value of growth equips young learners with the adaptability, curiosity, and determination needed to flourish both academically and throughout their adult lives.
  • Respect

At Wavendon Gate School we believe that teaching the value of respect is fundamental to how you create a safe, inclusive, and harmonious community where every child feels valued and supported. Embedded directly within our school's ethos and behaviour framework, "The Wavendon Gate Way," respect guides how we teach pupils essential life habits—such as listening carefully, speaking kindly, and honouring diverse backgrounds—to cultivate a calm, focused learning environment. By instilling mutual respect alongside fundamental core values like kindness and honesty, we strive to empower our students to understand how their actions affect others, shaping them into polite, considerate, and responsible individuals prepared to thrive in a wider, diverse society.
  • Self-Belief

We believe that teaching the value of self-belief at Wavendon Gate School is fundamental to empowering pupils to unlock their full potential and approach learning with confidence. Embedded directly within our behaviour framework, "The Wavendon Gate Way," nurturing self-belief encourages children to embrace challenges, learn from their mistakes, and develop a resilient mindset in the face of obstacles. By instilling a strong sense of self-worth alongside core values like respect, kindness, and honesty, we help pupils trust their own abilities and take pride in their unique achievements. Ultimately, fostering self-belief equips young learners with the courage, ambition, and independence needed to set high goals for themselves and succeed both academically and personally throughout their lives.
  • Honesty

Teaching the value of honesty at Wavendon Gate School is vital to building a culture of trust, integrity, and personal accountability across the entire school community. Deeply embedded in our behaviour framework, "The Wavendon Gate Way” learning to be honest encourages pupils to speak truthfully, take responsibility for their actions, and stand up for what is right. By understanding that honesty creates a safe space where mistakes are viewed as opportunities to learn and grow, students develop true self-confidence and mutual respect with their peers and teachers. Ultimately, embedding honesty alongside core values like kindness and respect equips children with a strong moral compass, guiding them to become dependable, principled, and trustworthy individuals throughout their lives.
  • Courtesy

We believe that teaching the value of courtesy at Wavendon Gate School is essential for cultivating a welcoming, polite, and considerate environment where every pupil feels appreciated. Integrated into our behaviour framework, "The Wavendon Gate Way," learning courtesy goes beyond basic good manners—it equips children with everyday habits like using polite language, actively listening, showing appreciation, and holding open doors. By practicing these everyday acts of mindfulness alongside core values like kindness, respect, and honesty, pupils learn how small actions positively influence their surroundings and ease social interactions. Ultimately, instilling courtesy fosters a harmonious school culture and prepares students to navigate the wider world with poise, empathy, and social confidence.
